The holidays mean different things to different people. For some families in our community, this time of year brings added stress and uncertainty. That’s why Family First Chiropractic is proud to continue our tradition of supporting Providence House, a vital domestic violence services shelter right here in Toms River.
We’re collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages, and we’d love your help. Every donation matters. Whether it’s a small toy or a gift card, your contribution brings hope to families facing difficult circumstances.
“As healthcare providers, we see our role extending beyond the adjustment table,” says Dr. Rob Bischoff. “When we support organizations like Providence House, we’re helping to heal our community in ways that go far beyond physical wellness. These kids deserve to feel the magic of the holidays, and together, we can make that happen.”
How Your Donations Help
The toys you bring to our practice go directly to Providence House, where they serve children staying at the shelter. Our first pickup happens on December 16th, but we’ll keep collecting through December 23rd, our last day open before the holiday break.
Here’s something special: toys that arrive after our initial pickup won’t go to waste. If they’re not distributed in time for Christmas, Providence House uses them as birthday gifts for children throughout the year. That means your generosity extends well beyond the holiday season.
What Providence House Needs Most
The shelter has shared their wish list with us, and it includes something for everyone. Action figures and dolls are always popular. So are games, puzzles, and LEGOS®. Younger kids love Play-Doh and craft kits, while teens appreciate headphones, skincare products, and art supplies.
Gift cards are incredibly helpful too. Target, Walmart, Amazon, Wawa, and Visa cards give families the flexibility to get exactly what they need. And don’t forget about the adults and caregivers—they appreciate clothing, slippers, bath items, and small home décor pieces.
You can find the complete wish list on our website with all the specific items Providence House is hoping to receive this year.
